Annabella, After Everything by Ben Day

Annabella, waiting at the window,
She can’t wait til her daddy gets home; she waits all day just to see his face again.

He walks in, tracking all the mud through, worn out, cuz he’s done all that he could do.
She runs in and throws her arms around his neck.

And he forgets everything at this gesture from his queen
Chorus
Just surround yourself in the colors of the morning,
Clothed in red as we venture past the shoreline.
With family, it’s you and me,
Just teach me what it means to be alive and overcoming,
After everything.

Butterflies flutter in his stomach.
Nervous for what he is up with.
Facing forever with the love he chose.
Family isn’t what he’s proud of.
They didn’t want him to go with his love.
They told him never to come back home.

But he forgets everything as he looks upon his king.

Surround yourself in the colors of the morning,
Clothed in red, as we venture past the shoreline.
It’s family, it’s you and me,
Just teach me what it means to be alive and overcoming.

When it’s not everything it should be,
He looks out and he takes in all the emptiness around him.
And then he starts to hold his breath.
Isolation…
Devastation…
But morning breaks as a friend reaches out and says,

Just surround yourself in the colors of the morning,
Clothed in red, as we venture past the shoreline.
It’s family, it’s you and me,
Just teach me what it means to be alive and overcoming…
After everything…
Annabella waiting at the window…
