Kristine Day
My name is Kristine Day (Kris). I have lived in Southeast Idaho most of my life. I’m a mountain girl. I’m also an athlete. I grew up playing basketball, volleyball, softball, racquetball, and hiking in the mountains. I have competed in two different sprint triathlons. I currently climb at the climbing gym, and outside sometimes, with my husband, Allen. We also hike, bike, cross-country ski, and play pickleball together.
Allen and I share adventures. Besides the five states we have lived in in United States, we have lived in Okinawa, Japan and Quito, Ecuador. We have crisscrossed the highways of the United States driving anywhere from Tijuana, Mexico to Maine and Vancouver, Canada and to the Florida Keys. I’ve visited 13 different countries, only two of those were in Europe. Keeping a journal since college, I’ve written many stories about my many adventures.
I’m a creator and an artist. I recycle and upcycle to create assemblage art and build other useful things from recycled materials.
I’m home school mom with really smart kids. I’m currently the president of East Idaho Home Educators which provides a conference for several hundred homeschooling families in Southeast Idaho.
I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Obeying my beloved Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ is very important to me. I married Allen Day. We have six children and 14 grandchildren.
I am also a published author. I Can’t Miss the Encore (Encore) is a memoir about my struggles with same-sex attraction and how God sent me in another direction, to have children. So, I wrote Encore, which tells about how all that happened.
